Automatic swimming pool cleaners are very popular solution in cleaning residential and commercial swimming pools worldwide, their awareness and demand increase every year.

What is an automatic swimming pool cleaner? It’s a robot with electronic and mechanical devices designed to automatically clean the pool. The main purpose of the robot is to clean the surface of the swimming pool. Some robots can clean only the floor of the pool while other are able to clean the floor as well as the walls of the pool; The robot is designed to mainly clean loose dirt ,dust, and debris from the swimming pool surfaces.

How does the robot work? The Robot has 3 main devices: a drive motor, a pump and a processor. The pump draws the water from the bottom of the robot where the intake valves are located, the water pass through the filter and out to the top outlet of the cleaner. During this process, debris and dust from the pool surfaces being vacuumed into the filter, and particles that are large enough stay inside the filter are disposed and removed.

The drive motor is designed to give the robot a directional movement but does not determine the route. The drive motor is rolling the drive belts and the drive belts are driving the wheels / wheel tubes.

The processor determines the cycle time of the motors to a specific direction. The advanced models have more sophisticated processors that remember the pool's size, shape, and determines the most efficient route to clean the entire pool.
